"The Believing Game" Anti- Racial profiling

Freedom, a word that is often times used when describing the Unites States of America. This word has a profound meaning to the Unites States government. The United States first amendment states all of the freedoms and luxuries allowed to all Americans. It states that it is unconstitutional to deprive citizens from their right to speak freely, participate in peaceful assembly, their religious freedoms, freedom of press, and their right to petition. When looking at this document it seems that America has no limitations and demonstrates the perfect world. Is that really the case? This country has done some much to build the reputation of being the “promise land”, where there are no boundaries to the life an individual can attain. It has inspired people from other countries come to America to better their lives and have all the freedoms that are promised in the first few sentences in the sacred constitutional amendment. All of this is true; every legal civilian is given the opportunity to have these rights but often times unable to achieve them due to major setbacks.  Universally known setbacks can be homelessness, job loss, disability, or lack of a college education. One that is debatably unconstitutional and is often times thrown under the rug is racial profiling. Racial profiling is defined as a government action directed at a specific person or group based merely on race. Most often, one may also be racially judged by the common person. Victims of this degrading and unfair judgment are usually the minorities; African Americans, Latin Americans, and Asians. This hindrance is so server, yet as previously stated from within the definition, it is a government guided action that demolishes a person’s right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It may seem as if a small group of people are affected by this, but little do people know that this is not the case. Racial profiling does not solely affect minorities but also the majority of the United States. It affects people of all races because it could cause tension and hatred among others are even cause a division with in the country.

  1. I agree with this post because it it very true there are people that dont get jobs still just because of there race but also there are people that get a job over someone else becasue of there race. Also the so called "promise land" is no longer promise land where there are no jobs to promise.
